Processing Sweeps

Once you have recorded sweeps — one for the left channel of your system, one for the right — these can be processed to produce room-correction filters.

Here you have a choice:

  • Ulrich Brüggemann’s (((Acourate)))™, a well-regarded commercial package (Windows); or
  • Denis Sbragion’s DRC, an open-source package (Windows and other platforms).

You also have the choice of using other systems to measure the room response, instead of the built-in sweep functions of Inguz DSP.  The room-correction functions can work with any filters saved as stereo WAV files, including those from Audiolense, another commercial package (Windows).

Processing with Acourate

Download and install Acourate, then use the ImpulsePrep utility (part of InguzTools) to convert your sweeps to impulse responses.  Then load these impulse responses into Acourate for processing, and export the results when done.  Detailed instructions here.

Processing with DRC

Download and install DRC, then use the ImpulsePrep utility (part of InguzTools), which calls DRC to create a series of correction filters.  Detailed instructions here.

Listening to the results

At the end of this process, you finish with one or more WAV files: the correction filters.  To use these filters in your SlimServer system:  copy the filter files into the InguzEQ Impulses folder, and select them using the remote control.  Detailed instructions are here.
