To use room correction, you need to measure the sound of your room; then use the measured sound to produce room-correction filters.
Measurement involves
- Obtaining some measurement equipment (microphone, PC audio interface and cables);
- Recording sweep test signals;
- Processing the sweep recordings to produce correction filters.
Any time your loudspeakers are moved (or changed!), or the room layout changes significantly, this will affect the room correction. Most users find they need to re-measure at least a couple of times per year.
